Direct-to-Film (DTF)
DTF printing is a versatile transfer-printing technology designed to work across a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, fleece, nylon, and various fabric blends. The design is printed onto a specialized transfer film using water-based inks, coated with an adhesive powder, and then transferred onto the garment using heat.
DTF is particularly well suited for complex graphics, colorful artwork, fine details, gradients, photographs, and detailed typography. The result is a vibrant and highly detailed print designed to withstand regular use and repeated washing when the recommended care instructions are followed.
DTFlex Premium Direct-to-Film
For selected products, we use DTFlex, Printful's premium and proprietary evolution of DTF technology. Developed and refined by Printful over years of testing, DTFlex is designed to deliver a more premium, clean, and consistent finish.
It is especially suitable for designs requiring intricate details, rich colors, fine typography, realistic images, and precise contours. DTFlex offers vibrant color reproduction, exceptionally sharp edges, strong detail retention, and a clean finish with no visible glue residue. It is also designed to provide durable, flexible prints that maintain their appearance through regular wear and proper washing.
